Basketball Recap: Luca White Key Part of a Team Effort in Raiders Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Crosby, Torrington was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Oxford Wolverines with a sharp 60-40 victory. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Torrington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luca White, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 21 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. That's the most boards White has posted since back in February of 2024. Chris De La Cruz was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds.

Torrington has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. As for Oxford, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-7 record.

Torrington will head out to square off against Watertown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Oxford, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Rhode Island School for the Deaf at 4:00 p.m. on February 11th.
