The Williston Mighty Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Santa Fe Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Williston sitting on three straight victories and Santa Fe on five.
Williston is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Fort White 22-7 on Thursday. The game was the first time the Mighty Red Devils have beaten the Indians on their field since February 28, 2017.

Luna Asencion made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2025. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
In other batting news, Williston got a massive performance out of Jayla Coleman, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Coleman has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Dixie Adams, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs.
Williston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 9.6.
Branford typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Santa Fe proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 3-0 win over the Buccaneers. Three seems to be a good number for the Raiders as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Not much got past Ryleigh Davis, who gave up just four hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Branford off the board. Davis has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Ainslea Kelsoe was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. Maren Hornsby was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Williston's record now sits at 10-8. As for Santa Fe, their record is now 18-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Williston has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Santa Fe struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Williston suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Santa Fe when the teams last played back in March of 2025. Can the Mighty Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
