The Waccamaw Warriors's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Myrtle Beach Seahawks at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th. Hopefully Waccamaw focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
Last Friday, Waccamaw lost to St. James on the road by a decisive 60-44 margin. While losing is never fun, Waccamaw can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 169th, while St. James is ranked 32nd).
Despite their loss, Waccamaw saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nate Kettels, who scored nine points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Sutton Cooper, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Myrtle Beach had to endure a ten-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Georgetown with a sharp 51-26 win on Friday. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Myrtle Beach has managed all season.
Waccamaw's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-7. As for Myrtle Beach, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-5.
