The Line Mountain Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Upper Dauphin Area Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Line Mountain is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
Last Friday, Line Mountain was able to grind out a solid victory over Juniata, taking the game 40-30.
Nolan Baumert continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 181 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. Dalton Schadel also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Upper Dauphin Area was beaten by Big Spring 42-14 on Friday. It was the first time this season that Upper Dauphin Area let down their fans at home.
Line Mountain's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Newport and 4-5 Halifax (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36.1% over those games). As for Upper Dauphin Area, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Line Mountain has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 223 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Upper Dauphin Area struggles in that department as they've been even better at 234.6 per game. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Line Mountain came up short against Upper Dauphin Area in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 25-14. Can Line Mountain avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
