The GRACE Christian Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Thales Academy Rolesville Knights at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. GRACE Christian will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
GRACE Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Fayetteville Christian on Tuesday as they made off with a 13-0 win. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Thomas Bradley made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Bradley was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, GRACE Christian let Cooper Bachman and Landon Shiley run wild. Bachman went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, four RBI, and one run, while Shiley scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Shiley has posted since back in April of 2024. Will Hamilton also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
GRACE Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Thales Academy Rolesville's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They came up short against Thales Academy Apex, falling 10-4. Knights fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Titans since on Thursday.
Evan Clark put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). Clark was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Chase Davidson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Andy Moore, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Thales Academy Rolesville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for GRACE Christian, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 2-7.
GRACE Christian took their victory against Thales Academy Rolesville when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
