Lampeter-Strasburg has gone a perfect 10-0 against Lebanon recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Pioneers will challenge the Cedars at 4:15 p.m. Lampeter-Strasburg is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Lampeter-Strasburg will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Friday, then bounced right back against Elizabethtown on Wednesday. The Pioneers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bears a 10-0 shutout. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.
Elizabethtown's batters probably weren't too happy with Devin Aponte, who pitched a no hitter and racked up six Ks (he gave up two walks). Aponte has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Brady Scranton was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in May of 2024. Gavin Tipping also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Lebanon and Solanco, and Solanco kept the tradition alive. The Cedars fell just short of the Golden Mules by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday.
Diego Serrano made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Cruz, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.
Lampeter-Strasburg's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Lebanon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lampeter-Strasburg has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Lebanon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lampeter-Strasburg was able to grind out a solid victory over Lebanon in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 7-3. Will the Pioneers repeat their success, or do the Cedars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
