The University City Centurions's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past Valhalla 70-30 at home. With University City ahead 36-14 at the half, the match was all but over already.
University City was led to victory by Luca Anzaldua bertholdo and Dylan Griffin. Anzaldua bertholdo scored 16 points along with 4 steals, while Griffin dropped a double-double on 19 points and 10 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Griffin has scored at least 25% of University City's points. Another player making a difference was Ben Gavani, who scored 12 points.
University City pushed their record up to 6-3 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for Valhalla, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
University City will head out on the road to face off against San Marcos at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. San Marcos knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully University City likes a good challenge. Valhalla won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Coronado at 7:00 p.m. on December 6th. Coronado has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last five games.
