The Hammond Central Wolves's 10-2 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were beaten by Michigan City 70-34 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Hammond Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 174th, while Michigan City is ranked 39th).
Despite the loss, Hammond Central still got an impressive performance from Marcus Browder, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds. The match was Browder's sixth in a row with at least ten points.
Michigan City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Wright out in front who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Allen Briggs, who scored 15 points.
Hammond Central bumped their record down to 2-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Michigan City, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Hammond Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Lighthouse College Prep Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Lighthouse College Prep Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Michigan City, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Mishawaka at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th.
