Andress is 0-10 against Chapin since March of 2023 but things could change on Tuesday. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Huskies at 6:00 p.m. Andress has given up an average of 10.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Friday, Andress came up short against Burges and fell 11-7.
Peyton Eissens made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazlynn Rodriguez, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Chapin entered their tilt with Canutillo on Friday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 11-1 victory. Considering the Huskies have won 19 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Jaedyne Armendariz made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Armendariz was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played.
In other batting news, Chapin got a massive performance out of Yaretzi Acosta, who went 3-for-4 with six RBI and one run. That's the most RBI Acosta has posted since back in February. Kaylee Himes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Chapin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .560. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in 19 consecutive games.
Andress' loss dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Chapin, their win bumped their record up to 24-6.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Andress has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .477. However, it's not like Chapin struggles in that department as they've averaged .542. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
