Ferris came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down the Jarrell Cougars 63-48. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 528th, while the Cougars are ranked 1102nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ferris' victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Jarrell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Ferris will have a chance to turn things around after yesterday's loss Van at 10:30 a.m. on Friday after yesterday's loss. Van will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Ferris surely won't give up without a fight. As for Jarrell, they and Lake Belton will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Jarrell is facing Lake Belton at the right time seeing as Lake Belton is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
