Greenbrier has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Macon County Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Two weeks ago, Greenbrier earned a 66-57 victory over White House.
Greenbrier's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nolan Carson, who dropped a triple-double on 16 points, 16 rebounds, and ten assists. Carson is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Nate Castleman was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Meanwhile, Macon County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell to White House 70-66. While losing is never fun, Macon County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 366th, while White House is ranked 130th).
Greenbrier pushed their record up to 10-7 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for Macon County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
Greenbrier was able to grind out a solid victory over Macon County in their previous meeting on January 9th, winning 54-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Greenbrier since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
