The Lehi Pioneers will challenge the Pleasant Grove Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Lehi put up the most runs they have all season on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over Lone Peak. The win continues a trend for the Pioneers in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won nine in a row.

Mya Maughan spent all three innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Lehi got a massive performance out of Camry Wassmer, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI Wassmer has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Bliss, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Lehi was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lone Peak only posted a batting average of .182.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove faced Riverton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Vikings lost 31-13 to the Silverwolves. That makes it the first time this season the Vikings have let down their home crowd.
Maile Larsen led a balanced group of hitters, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Grace Norman, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
Pleasant Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Lehi, their victory bumped their record up to 11-2.
Pleasant Grove's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Lehi has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.2 hits per game. It's a different story for Pleasant Grove, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Lehi's sizable advantage in that area, the Vikings will need to find a way to close that gap.
Lehi suffered a grim 16-4 defeat to Pleasant Grove in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Pioneers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
