The Sweeny Bulldogs lost against the Brazosport Exporters back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Sweeny's rough 69-46 defeat to Brazosport might stick with them for a while. Sweeny was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-20.
When it comes to explaining why Sweeny lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shaylee Robinson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Robinson is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Hailey Eulenfeld, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Deja El Amin continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Brazosport, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Londyn Brown, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and eight blocks.
Sweeny's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 20-11. As for Brazosport, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 25-6 record this season.
Sweeny will face off against Navasota at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Navasota will roll in looking for their 21st straight win, something Sweeny surely won't give up without a fight. Brazosport does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
