The San Jacinto Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the Ventura Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While San Jacinto's victory against Cathedral City wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Lions 3-2 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tigers have posted since February 15th.
San Jacinto wouldn't go down easily and took Cathedral City into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-14, 25-22, 24-26, 15-13.

San Jacinto found their leader in sophomore Joseph Gordon, who had 23 digs and two assists. Those 23 digs set a new season-high mark for Gordon. Another player making a difference was Jo Jo Camargo, who had 16 digs and two assists.
San Jacinto was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 39 aces. They are a perfect 5-0 when they serve at least ten aces.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Ventura challenged Segerstrom on Tuesday. The Cougars blew past the Jaguars 3-0. The Cougars not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 16th (when they won 3-0).
The final score came out to 25-13, 25-14, 25-20.
Ventura's win came from a few key players San Jacinto will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Fletcher Duffey, who had 21 digs and three assists. That's the most assists he has posted over his last ten contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Theodore Souther-Pasquarella, who had three digs and one block.
San Jacinto's record now sits at 11-7. As for Ventura, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.
