This season hasn't been kind to the Community Leadership Academy Lions, who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They suffered a rough 60-36 defeat at the hands of Munroe on Thursday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Community Leadership Academy has scored all season.
Despite the defeat, Community Leadership Academy had strong showings from Bowman Holloway, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds, and Levi Johnson, who scored 14 points.
Munroe's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zy Reese, who scored 21 points along with three steals. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Karlton Knight, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
Community Leadership Academy's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Munroe, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Community Leadership Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wakulla Christian School at 5:30 p.m. Wakulla Christian School is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Munroe, they will head out on the road to face off against Jefferson County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Jefferson County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 689th, while Munroe is ranked 175th).
