The Skyline Coyotes struggled with threes on Thursday (the Browne Bruins had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Skyline took a 55-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Browne. Skyline has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Skyline lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jc Ameca, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Daylan Chichester, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Leading Browne to victory were Adam Chaffin and Desmyn Beavers-smith. Chaffin almost dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 13 rebounds, and nine blocks, while Beavers-smith scored 23 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Beavers-smith has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Bill Bayigamba, who scored five points along with two blocks.
Skyline has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Browne, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-9.
Skyline won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Westwood is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Browne, they will be playing at home against Camelback at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
