The Wood River Eagles entered their tilt with the Central City Bison with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Wood River secured a 55-49 W over the Bison on Friday. This was payback for Wood River, who suffered a 48-35 loss the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Central City still got an impressive performance from Ayden Zikmund, who scored 24 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jakob Ruhl, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Wood River has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Central City, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-3.
Wood River won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Doniphan-Trumbull presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Eagles in Nebraska (the Cardinals are ranked 13th, while the Eagles are ranked 73rd). As for Central City, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Chanticleers at 3:00 p.m. on February 3rd. Hopefully Ord focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.
