Basketball Recap: Plateau Valley Piles Up the Points Against Caprock Academy

Plateau Valley won the last time they faced Caprock Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Plateau Valley Cowboys took their game with ease, bagging a 48-19 victory over the Caprock Academy Eagles. The Cowboys have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 25 points or more this season.

Leading Plateau Valley to victory were Emaline Ealey and Macy Bevan. Ealey dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, while Bevan went 8 of 12 on her way to 16 points in addition to five boards and three blocks. Ealey has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 15 times she's played. Payton Wilkerson was another key player, putting up four points and four steals.

Plateau Valley smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in ten consecutive matches.

Plateau Valley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points per game. As for Caprock Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Plateau Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 25-24 loss against West Grand on the 18th. As for Caprock Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-8 defeat against Rangely on the 16th.
