After a string of three wins, the San Diego Academy Cavaliers's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 43-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mountain Empire. San Diego Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mountain Empire apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2018.
Andrew Sepulveda continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Mountain Empire, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. Sepulveda hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Corey Vann, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
San Diego Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-7. As for Mountain Empire, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
San Diego Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Monarch at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Monarch is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Mountain Empire, they will challenge School for Entrepreneurship & Technology at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
