After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Anahuac, the Milby Buffs were happy to have found some success on Friday. They walked away with a 49-42 win over Wisdom. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Milby also won the last time the pair played back in November.
Milby was led to victory by Delani Pestaina and Kobe Brown. Pestaina scored 17 points along with three steals, while Brown scored 15 points along with three steals. Brown hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Daniel Cantu was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Milby's win bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Wisdom, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.
Milby and Jordan will round out the year against one another at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at. Hopefully Jordan focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Tuesday. Wisdom will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Forest on January 4, 2024.
