On Wednesday, McKinley Tech came up short against Takoma Academy and fell 66-53.
Despite the loss, McKinley Tech still got an impressive performance from Demontae Neclos, who scored 25 points. Neclos scored a full 47.2% of McKinley Tech's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Dunbar, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds.
McKinley Tech's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Takoma Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
McKinley Tech will be playing in front of their home fans against Edmondson-Westside at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Takoma Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Friendship Collegiate Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Friendship Collegiate Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
