The Wingfield Falcons's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Moss Point Tigers at 3:00 p.m. on December 26th. Wingfield will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Moss Point is ranked 129th).
Wingfield struggled with assists on Tuesday (Velma Jackson had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Wingfield fell to Velma Jackson 54-49. Wingfield has not had much luck with Velma Jackson recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Wingfield saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tyler Arrington, who scored 18 points, was perhaps the best of all. Arrington hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. Martavius Bennett was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Moss Point was the victim of a rough 43-21 defeat at the hands of Bay Springs on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Moss Point has scored all season.
