Belleview Christian has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Lyons Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Belleview Christian strolled past Gilpin County with points to spare, taking the game 26-8. The victory was just what Belleview Christian needed coming off of a 54-6 defeat in their prior contest.
Jagga Sandhu was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 79 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Matthew Norman, who picked up 101 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Belleview Christian's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 9.5 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Taj Sandhu and Tobin Galaty who racked up seven sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Lyons put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Front Range Christian 66-12 at home. Fans of Lyons have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Miles Dumbauld continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 120 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries, while also throwing for 190 yards and four touchdowns on only 18 passes. Dumbauld really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run. Malik Sigg-Brown was another key contributor, rushing for 63 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Belleview Christian's win bumped their record up to 4-4. As for Lyons, their win was their eighth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-0.
Belleview Christian was taken down by Lyons 58-18 when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Belleview Christian have more luck at home instead of on the road?
