Duchesne extended the longest winning streak in 1A - North this week by beating Layton Christian Academy, 42-13. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Eagles.
Altamont made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 12,228 from 13,435. The advance stemmed from a 41-26 victory over the Longhorns last week.
Summit Academy's dynamic duo of Christian Miller and Hayden Henriod proved tough for Monticello to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Miller threw for 237 yards and two touchdowns and Henriod had 104 yards receiving. Steven Harp helped Summit Academy's passing attack out by catching five balls for 65 yards.
Kaden Moon was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 123 yards as Duchesne lost to the Buckaroos. Trent Roberts also contributed to the rushing game with 100 yards on the ground.
Brock Rawlings made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Eagles fell to Jerry Cowan's team. The sophomore pulled down one interception.
Miller has thrown for 955 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, while Harp has 12 catches for 290 yards. Brodi Strong leads the league in rushing with 560 yards.
A big matchup in 1A - North this week will be when Scott Gorringe's team takes on the Eagles. Summit Academy is currently in third, while Duchesne is in first.
