Even though the Niceville Eagles scored an imposing 66 points on Tuesday, the Navarre Raiders still came out on top. Navarre secured a 70-66 W over Niceville. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Navarre.
Darius Cunningham continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 18 rebounds. The matchup was his 14th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jonah Forrest, who scored 17 points along with three steals.
Niceville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Fred Libby, who scored 23 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. Jackson Hamman was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds.
Navarre's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-7. As for Niceville, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Navarre won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Pensacola Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 3rd. Pensacola Catholic is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. Niceville is on the road again on Thursday and play against Pace at 6:15 p.m. on January 4th. Pace is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
