The Raymond Seagulls can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Wednesday. They came out on top against Ocosta by a score of 52-42. The victory was just what Raymond needed coming off of a 67-47 loss in their prior matchup.
Among those leading the charge was Christopher Quintana, who scored 21 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Welch, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Ocosta still got an impressive performance from Tarren Lewis, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds. Jesus Agramon was another key contributor, scoring five points.
The win got Raymond back to even at 1-1. As for Ocosta, they bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Raymond will challenge Ilwaco at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Ilwaco's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Ocosta, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against North Beach at 7:00 p.m.
