Rancho Cucamonga has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Damien Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rancho Cucamonga will be hoping to continue their five-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
Last Friday, Rancho Cucamonga got themselves on the board against Chino Hills, but Chino Hills never followed suit. They blew past the Huskies 49-0 at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Rancho Cucamonga just coasted through the last quarter.
Trey Wilson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 250 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 13.2 yards per carry. Wilson's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. Nehemiah Harrison did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 46 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Damien put another one in the bag two weeks ago to keep their undefeated season alive. They breezed by Chino Hills on the road to the tune of 34-7. The result was nothing new for Damien, who have now won five games by 21 points or more so far this season.
Jordan Young was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries. Aaron Escarcega made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
The wins kept both teams' perfect 8-0 season records intact.
Everything came up roses for Rancho Cucamonga against Damien when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 42-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rancho Cucamonga since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
