Basketball Recap: Dobson Skates Past Westwood with Ease

There's no place like home for Dobson, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They took their contest on Thursday with ease, bagging a 55-17 victory over the Westwood Warriors. The win was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Dobson was led to victory by Lana Shirley and Aamani Nolletti. Shirley went 6 for 9 on her way to 14 points and five steals, while Nolletti went 6 of 8 en route to 17 points and three steals. Those 17 points gave Nolletti a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zaria Rankin, who posted four points in addition to five boards and five steals.

Dobson's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-13. As for Westwood, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-15.

Dobson wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 63-27 defeat against Sunnyside on the 24th. As for Westwood, they will face off against Skyline at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westwood is facing Skyline at the right time seeing as Skyline is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
