In other batting news, Macey McGhee was incredible, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooke Vollman, who scored two runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Independence pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Triway, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Triway beat Independence 5-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
