The Lake Country Christian Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 79-44 loss at the hands of Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool. While losing is never fun, Lake Country Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1037th, while Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool is ranked 141st).
Despite the loss, Lake Country Christian still got an impressive performance from Jayden Goree, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Those five rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Bryce Fagley, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, Lake Country Christian were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool only racked up 22 assists.
Leading Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool to victory were Isaac Aguilar and Toby Pike. Aguilar scored 24 points along with six rebounds, while Pike dropped a triple-double on 18 points, 13 rebounds, and ten assists. The matchup was Aguilar's ninth in a row with at least ten points. Andrew Symes was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four blocks.
Lake Country Christian has been struggling recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-20 record this season. As for Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool, the victory (which was their 12th in a row) raised their record to 17-3.
Lake Country Christian will play host again and welcome Fort Worth THESA, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool is on the road again on Friday and play against All S at 4:30 p.m. on January 12th.
