There's no place like home for the Hurricane Redskins, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They blew past Capital 75-36 at home. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hurricane also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hurricane to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taylor Manley, who scored 19 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Manley grabbed two or more steals. Kaylee Whitman was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five assists and five steals.
Hurricane's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Capital, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hurricane will be home for the holidays to greet Bridgeport at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Bridgeport is ranked 74th, while Hurricane is ranked 64th). Capital will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Albans at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. St. Albans is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
