The South Broward Bulldogs will venture away from home to challenge the Monarch Knights at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. South Broward will be strutting in after a victory while Monarch will be coming in after a loss.
South Broward proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 21) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Taravella.

Angelina Romero 2027 made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Onya Lee-Golightly 2025 was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Cheyenne Bradley 2025 also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Monarch came up short against Pompano Beach on Monday and fell 7-4. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their meetings with the Golden Tornadoes: they've now lost five in a row.
Gabriela Pearson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Even though they lost, Monarch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. This was only their first loss (out of three games) when they post 11 or more hits.
South Broward is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. Monarch's loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
South Broward's speedy runners might be the difference in Wednesday's matchup. South Broward has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Monarch, though, as they've been averaging only 1.4 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will South Broward continue to outrun the ball?
South Broward might still be hurting after the 13-2 defeat they got from Monarch when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can South Broward avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
