The Chase County Longhorns posted their biggest victory yet this season on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Perkins County 57-27 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Chase County has posted against Perkins County since January 20, 2020.
Chase County was led to victory by Camron Lempke and Easton Fries. Lempke scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Fries scored 17 points along with five rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Fries scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Carson Terryberry, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Chase County and bumps their season record up to 5-6. As for Perkins County, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chase County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Holyoke at 4:00 p.m. on January 25th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Holyoke is ranked 91st in Colorado, while Chase County is ranked 87th in Nebraska). Perkins County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wauneta-Palisade on January 12th. Wauneta-Palisade is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
