The Bluffton Bobcats will look to defend their home court against the James Island Trojans at 7:30 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Bluffton has not done well against Hilton Head Island recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Bluffton came out on top against Hilton Head Island by a score of 47-39.
Bluffton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was JaMari Stewart-Manning out in front who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Carnell Warren, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and four steals.
Meanwhile, James Island had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past West Ashley, posting a 77-49 victory at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win James Island has posted since December 6, 2023.
Bluffton's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for James Island, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Bluffton came up short against James Island when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 60-49. Can Bluffton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
