Baseball Recap: Polytech Wins Going Away Against Middletown

Polytech came out on top against Middletown on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run third inning. The Panthers put the hurt on the Cavaliers with a sharp 11-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Cam Allen was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evan Rosenwald, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Polytech always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Polytech's record is now 6-9. As for Middletown, they moved to 5-16 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Polytech will welcome Middletown at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Middies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.65 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Middletown, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Delaware Military Academy at 4:00 p.m. on the 26th.
