Loris is 9-1 against Waccamaw since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Loris Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Waccamaw Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Loris scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 70-34 victory over Manning. Loris has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 25 points or more this season.
Loris can attribute much of their success to Mariasia Moody, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Karmen Moody, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Waccamaw waltzed into their match on Friday with three straight wins but they left with four. They had just enough and edged Dillon out 50-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Waccamaw has posted yet this season.
Loris' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11. As for Waccamaw, they pushed their record up to 7-8 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Loris won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, slipping by Waccamaw 42-41. Does Loris have another victory up their sleeve, or will Waccamaw turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
