Providence Classical lost against the Liberty Preparatory Christian Patriots back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Providence Classical was dealt a 49-15 loss at the hands of Liberty Preparatory Christian. Providence Classical has not had much luck with Liberty Preparatory Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Leading Liberty Preparatory Christian to victory were Madelyn Clinkenbeard and Leia Garrett. Clinkenbeard scored 14 points, while Garrett scored ten points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Addison Hershey, who scored four points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Providence Classical bumped their record down to 2-6 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.9 points per game. As for Liberty Preparatory Christian, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Classical will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on South Charlotte T at 6:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Liberty Preparatory Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against SouthLake Christian Academy at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th.
