There's no place like home for the Waterloo Cougars, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Friday. The stars were shining brightly for them in a 51-33 victory over Vina on Monday. That's another feather in the cap for Waterloo, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Despite the loss, Vina still got an impressive performance from Sara Harper, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Harper scored a full 30.3% of Vina's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Kaley Attaway was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Waterloo's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5. As for Vina, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Waterloo won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Athens Bible at 5:30 p.m. on December 19th. Athens Bible is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. Vina won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Tremont at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. Hopefully Tremont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Tuesday.
