Hardin Valley Academy faced Bearden in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Hawks were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Bulldogs. Considering the Hawks have won 12 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

The win was the third in a row for Hardin Valley Academy, bringing their record up to 21-9-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Bearden, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 28-7.
