The Chagrin Falls Tigers will be home for the holidays to greet the Lake Catholic Cougars at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Chagrin Falls will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
Last Saturday, Chagrin Falls earned a 44-36 win over Kenston.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Chagrin Falls to victory, but perhaps none more so than Amelia Bencko, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Russell, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Lake Catholic's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 57-33 loss at the hands of Walsh Jesuit. While losing is never fun, Lake Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 542nd, while Walsh Jesuit is ranked 171st).
Chagrin Falls' victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4. As for Lake Catholic, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.
Chagrin Falls didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Lake Catholic in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 32-28 victory. Will Chagrin Falls repeat their success, or does Lake Catholic have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
