The Nantahala Hawks lost against the Hayesville Yellowjackets back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Nantahala was beaten by Hayesville 76-29. Nantahala has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Nantahala's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Fernado Trejo, who scored 6 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Neal, who scored 5 points along with 5 rebounds.
Nantahala's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Hayesville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nantahala will face off against Robbinsville at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hayesville, they will head out on the road to face off against Summit Charter at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
