The Archbishop Bergan Knights will head out on the road to face off against the West Point-Beemer Cadets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Archbishop Bergan has struggled recently with five defeats in a row, while West Point-Beemer will arrive with three straight victories.
Last Saturday, Archbishop Bergan came up short against Guardian Angels Central Catholic and fell 54-44.
Meanwhile, West Point-Beemer scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They strolled past Tekamah-Herman with points to spare, taking the game 73-58. West Point-Beemer pushed the score to 66-45 by the end of the third, a deficit Tekamah-Herman cut but never quite recovered from.
West Point-Beemer's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Colten Haber, who scored 25 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Haber has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Connor Troyer, who scored 13 points along with eight steals.
Archbishop Bergan has not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season. As for West Point-Beemer, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-9.
Archbishop Bergan took their victory against West Point-Beemer in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 62-40.
