The McNary Celtics pushed their score all the way to 72 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of South Eugene by a score of 75-72. McNary has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
South Eugene's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Calvin Yoder, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Saunders, who scored 15 points.
McNary's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5. As for South Eugene, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McNary will square off against North Salem at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. North Salem is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. As for South Eugene, they will head out on the road to face off against North Medford at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (North Medford is ranked 124th, while South Eugene is ranked 100th).
