The Pocatello Thunder pushed their score all the way to 75 on Sunday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Ironwood 80-75. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (68), Pocatello still had to take the loss.
Ironwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noah Gifft, who scored 25 points. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. I'yar Shadowvine was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Pocatello's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Ironwood, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Pocatello will head out on the road to face off against Twin Falls at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Twin Falls knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Pocatello likes a good challenge. Ironwood won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Paradise Valley at 7:00 p.m. on December 18th. Paradise Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 179th, while Ironwood is ranked 36th).
