On Friday Lockwood/Golden City take on Greenfield at 7:00 PM. Lockwood/Golden City don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
After flying high against Ash Grove two weeks ago, Lockwood/Golden City came back down to earth. Lockwood/Golden City lost to Miller by a decisive 8-27 margin. Lockwood/Golden City's low-scoring loss was the unsatisfying follow-up to their high-scoring outing the matchup before.
Meanwhile, Greenfield made easy work of Ash Grove last Friday and carried off a 39-7 win. Greenfield were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Greenfield's victory lifted them to 5-2 while Lockwood/Golden City's defeat dropped them down to 3-4. We'll find out if Greenfield can add another positive mark to their record or if Lockwood/Golden City can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Greenfield's step.
