The Bishop Eustace Prep Crusaders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 69-51 to Middle Township. While losing is never fun, Bishop Eustace Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Middle Township is ranked 11th).
Leading Middle Township to victory were Anthony Trombetta and Jamir McNeil. Trombetta scored 22 points along with two steals, while McNeil scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that McNeil pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Re'Ale Basquine, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Bishop Eustace Prep's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-7. As for Middle Township, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Eustace Prep will stay at home for another game and welcome Shawnee at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Middle Township will take on Millville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
