There's no place like home for the Fernandina Beach Pirates, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They put the hurt on West Nassau with a sharp 57-33 win on Thursday. Given Fernandina Beach's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 306th, while West Nassau is ranked 743rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fernandina Beach was led to victory by Chase Landtroop and Terrence Jones. Landtroop scored 17 points along with five rebounds, while Jones scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Greeson, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brady Thrift, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jakari Major, who scored nine points.
