The West Point Dragons will head out on the road to challenge the Maricopa Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. West Point is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
Last Tuesday, West Point had to suffer through a rough 43-14 loss at the hands of the Stallions. While losing is never fun, West Point can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 249th, while the Stallions are ranked 94th).
Meanwhile, Maricopa took a serious blow against the Champions on Tuesday, falling 56-19. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Maricopa in their matchups with the Champions: they've now lost four in a row.
West Point's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-16. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.5 points per game. As for Maricopa, their loss dropped their record down to 4-16.
Things could have been worse for West Point, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 44-29 loss to the Rams in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can West Point avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
