Midland Wachusett - D recap September 24, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Alex Thomas and Kyle McCubrey connected against Ayer Shirley. The connection went for 60 yards, the longest such play in Midland Wachusett - D this season.
Maynard/Bromfield scaled the state rankings by moving to 154 from 188 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Tigers were able to move up by beating Murdock 56-12.
West Boylston/Tahanto's dynamic duo of Thomas and Bryan Hayes proved tough for the Panthers to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Thomas threw for 163 yards and 2 touchdowns and Hayes had 86 yards receiving. McCubrey helped West Boylston/Tahanto's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 77 yards.
The Lions' dynamic duo of Thomas and Hayes proved to be unstoppable against Ayer Shirley, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Sean Peterson was a passing and rushing force as Maynard/Bromfield topped the Blue Devils.
Hayes was the best wideout in the league this week as West Boylston/Tahanto bested the Panthers.
Thomas put up the best numbers through the air as David Tinglof's team defeated Ayer Shirley.
Peterson was the best running back in Midland Wachusett - D this week. He ran for 203 yards on 12 carries as Harold Ogilvie's team bested the Panthers. Teammate Stephen Peterson added to the ground attack by rushing for 156 yards.
West Boylston/Tahanto's Thomas and McCubrey have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Thomas has thrown for 248 yards this season, while McCubrey, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 3 catches for 99 yards. Peterson from the Tigers leads the league in rushing with 367 yards.
The Lions are currently in fourth, while Lunenburg is in second.
West Boylston/Tahanto took down Ayer Shirley 57-13 last week, the largest margin of any game. Thomas during the win.
