AAAA Region II recap September 10, 2013
Mauldin took down Woodmont 58-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Mavericks made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 4,012 from 4,839. The improvement was the result of 58-0 victory over the Wildcats last week.
Byrnes's dynamic duo of Shuler Bentley and Greg McHam proved to be unstoppable against Woodruff, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Bentley threw for 530 yards and 9 touchdowns and McHam had 159 yards receiving. Tavin Richardson helped Byrnes' passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 126 yards.
The Rebels' dynamic duo of Bentley and McHam proved tough for the Wolverines to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
McHam was the best wideout in AAAA Region II this week as Byrnes topped Woodruff.
Bentley put up the best numbers through the air as Bobby Bentley's team beat Brian Lane's team.
He was 22-32 with 1 interceptions.
Hyleck Foster was the most successful running back in the league this week. He ran for 99 yards on 15 carries as Gaffney bested the Wolverines. JoJo McGill also contributed to the rushing game with 13 yards on the ground.
Thanks to the talents of Eddie Studyvance and Foster, the Indians have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Studyvance leads the league in passing with 507 yards, while Foster has rushed for 303 yards this season. Byrnes' Shaedon Meadors leads the league in receiving yards with 178 on 9 catches.
The Rebels led the league in scoring this week by notching 82 points on Woodruff. Bentley during the win.
